SO ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THAT WE DID WAS ACTUALLY LOOK AT THE 2021 AND THE 2023 COMMUNITY SURVEYS JUST TO SEE BASELINE, HOW PEOPLE WERE FEELING AND WHAT THEY WERE THINKING ABOUT. GROVE CITY ALSO SITTING DOWN WITH ALL THE MATERIALS THAT YOU'RE CURRENTLY USING FROM A COMMUNICATION STANDPOINT, BECAUSE OUR JOB ISN'T TO RECREATE THE WHEEL ALL THE TIME, IT'S TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE PROVIDING THE TOOLS THAT YOU CAN USE AND THAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH, AND THEY'RE GOING TO SERVE YOU IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. YOU HAD OVER 1000 PARTICIPANTS IN THE INITIAL PERCEPTION SURVEY, WHICH IS REALLY GREAT FOR THE SIZE OF YOUR COMMUNITY AND ALL OF THAT INFORMATION THAT WE GOT FROM THOSE DISCOVERY VISITS, FROM TALKING TO EVERYBODY, FROM THOSE PERCEPTION SURVEYS, FROM THE SURVEYS THAT YOU'VE ALREADY PUT TOGETHER, WAS TO BUILD A BRAND STRATEGY. AND THAT IS THE FIRST THING THAT WE DO BEFORE WE DO ANY DESIGN WORK.

AND THAT BRAND STRATEGY HELPS US UNDERSTAND WHO YOUR AUDIENCES ARE AND WHAT KIND OF

WHAT INFORMATION DO THEY NEED FROM US SO THAT YOU CAN SPEAK TO THEM IN THE RIGHT WAY? WE ALSO DO A DEEP DIVE ON WHAT WE CONSIDER TO BE YOUR DISTINCT ADVANTAGES. THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOUR COMMUNITY SPECIA, BECAUSE THE THING YOU WANT TO DO IS YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU PRESERVE THOSE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU SPECIAL. SO IT'S UNDERSTANDING THAT GROUPING. THE THING TO KEEP IN MIND IS THESE ARE TARGET AUDIENCES, BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE MESSAGING THAT WE IDENTIFY FOR THESE GROUPS ARE NOT GOING TO BE HEARD BY MORE AUDIENCES. BUT IF YOU MOVE FORWARD THROUGH THIS, WE REALLY TARGETED UNDERSTANDING SMALL LOCAL BUSINESS OWNERS. THE LARGER BUSINESSES THAT COME TO YOUR CITY, YOUNG ADULTS AND LONG TIME RESIDENTS, SO THAT WE COULD UNDERSTAND WHO THEY WERE AND THEIR EXPECTATIONS THAT THEY HAD FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WHAT THEY CARE ABOUT. THE DISTINCT ADVANTAGES THAT WE HEARD FROM ALL OF THE PEOPLE THAT WE TALKED TO. IF YOU MOVE TO THE NEXT SLIDE, I'LL SUMMARIZE THESE BECAUSE THE TYPE IS REALLY TINY HERE. YOUR DOWNTOWN IS A HIGHLIGHT FOR EVERYBODY. IT'S A DESTINATION A LOT OF PEOPLE COME HERE FOR SPORTING EVENTS, SO YOU CAN BE A DESTINATION WITHOUT HAVING AMUSEMENT PARKS OR OTHER THINGS THAT PEOPLE COME TO. BUT YOUR LOCATION IS REALLY IDEAL FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO ARE COMING TO THE COLUMBUS REGION. WE ALSO HEARD THAT THEY FEEL THEY GET THEIR BANG FOR THE BUCK LIVING HERE COMPARED TO OTHER CENTRAL OHIO COMMUNITIES, AND THEY FEEL THAT IT IS A PRESERVED HOMETOWN, AND THAT'S SOMETHING THAT THE CITY HAS WORKED VERY HARD TO LIKE.
