UNDER THIS APPLICATION, ONLY THE STRUCTURE AT 3306 COLUMBUS STREET WAS IDENTIFIED AS HAVING SIGNIFICANT HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURE, AND AS SUCH, FUTURE DISCUSSION WILL BE NEEDED TO DETERMINE IF THE STRUCTURE SHOULD BE SAVED. AND HE WANTED ME TO COME AND SAY THAT QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO, IKE AND A MEMBER OF THE WHO IS A MEMBER OF THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND SOMEONE ELSE, JOHN HINES, WHO BELONGS, THEY WENT UP IN THE CHURCH, THEY WENT UP IN THE OLD CHURCH AND THEY SAW PAINTINGS ON THE TIMBERS UP IN THE EAVES AND UNDER THE ROOF. WE DO NOT ANTICIPATE IT, DID NOT PLAN ON, DID NOT THINK IT WAS POSSIBLE TO MOVE IT, BUT TO SAVE SOME OF THE OLD LOGS FROM IT, MAYBE USE IT IN A RECONSTRUCTION DOWN AT THE VILLAGE. SO I'M NOT SURE WHERE THAT STANDS IN YOUR PROCESS, WHETHER THAT WENT BY THE WAYSIDE, THAT DEAL WITH THE DEVELOPERS THAT WE UNDERSTOOD WAS THERE A FEW YEARS AGO, ON APRIL 17TH, THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE DEVELOPERS, AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAD INCURRED THE WINTER DAMAGE AND THE STRUCTURE COULD NO LONGER BE SALVAGEABLE AND IT WOULD BE DEMOLISHED. SO MY QUESTION TODAY IS WHAT HAPPENED TO SAVING SOME OF THE THINGS THAT ARE STILL IN THE ATTIC OF THE BUILDING THAT ARE OF VALUE TO US, BUT MAYBE NOBODY ELSE? AND I DON'T THINK THE FLOODWATERS REACHED THAT HIGH. SO I DON'T KNOW THE CONDITION OF THAT. I LIVE IN THE AREA, SO I DON'T KNOW WHAT FLOOD THERE WAS IN THAT AREA. BUT ANYWAY. SO. ABOUT THIS MEETING TODAY, AND WE WANTED TO LET IT BE KNOWN THAT WE WOULD LIKE ANYTHING SIGNIFICANT, THAT SALVAGEABLE TO BE SAVED IN THIS BUILDING AND NOT JUST TORN DOWN, BUT ACCORDING TO THAT LETTER, IT SOUNDED LIKE THERE WAS NOTHING DEEMED VALUABLE AT ALL. AND IT WAS GOING TO BE LEVELED. SO AND I APPRECIATE, MICHAEL, YOUR IDEA OF SAINT JOHN'S.
